Control Unit does not function correctly

Postby Hilbert » Fri 10 Oct 2003 - 12:23

Question:
Control Unit does not function correctly (rudder and slider give no or a bad response). What can I do?

Answer:
Follow the next procedure:
  1. Check is the cable is connected.
  2. Install and calibrate under Windows a 2-axis 2-button joystick.. (Via Start Button / Settings/Configuration Screen/Game controllers. Switch off enable interupts to reduce disturbances.
  3. Start up Sail Simulator 4 and select at Preferences/Control the 2-axis 2-button joystick. Select Reverse X-axis and Reverse Y-axis. Switch-off FFB for direct control.
  4. Press Sail. In the simulation the rudder must react well if you adjust the helm. Select a sheet (F2 for the main sheet), keep the left button on the control unit pressed and adjust the slider to adjust the selected sheet.

More info:
Use a GamePort to USB interface cable to connect the control unit to USB. If you use a Sitecom cable then set the switch on the cable to joystick A.
