Will future versions or S.D.Toolkit be backward compatible?

Postby Barry » Sun 09 May 2004 - 21:18

Regarding any future versions, or improvements made to the simulators or to the the Scenery Designer Toolkit... Will they be backwards compatible with routes already existing and with the 3D models already made? That is would they need new 3D models and or new routes making?

Hello Barry.

The future developments of the Scenery Designer Toolkit will be (partly) backward compatible.

You won't be able to create routes for older versions of Sail (Motorboat) Simulator because we're planning changes in the scenery format.

However we want to implement the possibility to convert older sceneries to the newer format with the Scenery Designer. So you will be able to convert your sceneries and use them in the newer versions of Sail (Motorboat) Simulator.
