Bight of Kiel Version 2 available now!

Postby ED50 » Fri 04 Aug 2006 - 20:22

Hello Sailors!
The new version 2.0 of my scenery "Bight of Kiel" is available now as download from the Stentec site under "user made sceneries".
Speciall thanks to Stefan who has made the scenery downloadable :D.

Important: It has a size of 65MByte :!:

Please have a look about the map here:
Image

I have added a readme with some proposed routes and other important hints which can be downloaded separately from the scenery.

Overview about the routes:
1. Gelting to Schleimünde
2. Schleimünde into Schlei
3. Schleimünde to Eckernförde
4. Kiel-Holtenau/Kiel-Canal-Lock to Lighthouse Kiel
5. Burgstaaken to Heiligenhafen
6. Passing Marstal
7. Nakskov

I like to thank Alexlinno and Altug for using thier objects.

A very special thank is going to Barry for using his objects and very important hints. I guess without his help I wouldn't be able to create this sceney :!:
To have that help documented I have placed one of his nice boats in the middle of the scenery so everybody has a view on it when starting "Bight of Kiel"

Every - I mean really every - comment is highly apreciated because that forum is too quiet :!: .
(Ihr könnt auch in deutsch schreiben :!:)

Bye
Ralf

Hi Ralf :D

It is great :D. Lots of destinations to sail :D. Lots of marinas for maneuvering :D. Lots of new models :D. Lot to discover :D. I wish the marinas could have collision spheres but I understand its a lot of work so leave it...

Thank you for this big job :D

All the best

Hi to all :!:

Thank you for all your feedback!

Altug, you are right. It takes to much time to add all the collision frames to the big objects (on the other hand it makes sailing more secure  ).

If somebody is interrested I can offer parts of the big objects as an single object also - e.g. a church.

Obsession, to activate the new scenery you need the Scenery Designer Tool Kit which can be downloaded from the Stentec site. With the "Scenery Builder" you can use the function "Load Package". Here you can add my scenery.

Looking forward for more feedback ...

Best Regards
Ralf

Hi Jean-Marc,
I have just made a look about your pictures of the Titanic and Bismarck. I am fascinated about the details you have created here.

Is it able to join objects like that i SailSim also?

What program you are using to create that?

Bye
Ralf

Hello Sailors,
I have found some discrepacies in my scenery:

- LH Staberhuk is on N54°24,1' E011°19,0' and not on N54°24,2' E010°18,8'; Z=-170,85

- Village Landkirchen "flys" because Z=0 - please set Z=-92

If somebody finds additional errors - please post here.

Good Wind
Ralf
