Question:
Can I use other projections (than Mercator)?

Answer:
Cilindrical, conic or stereographic projections are only usable with 3-point calibration. Choose your calibration points carefully. Especially large charts can cause deviations at points distant from the calibration points. Scans of Lambert (aviation) charts, ANWB water charts and charts of the Rijnatlas are considered to be suitable.

Question:
What's a chart datum?

Answer:
The chart datum defines a model of the curvature of the earth. WGS84 is standard these days. You can also set the prefered of your GPS by its menu. The datum of the charts used by WinGPS Pro can and may differ from the GPS-datum setting. WinGPS Pro corrects this.
