Newbie...help!

Newbie...help!

Postby heng » Tue 24 Feb 2009 - 13:24

hi,
I have just purchased SS5, but only have a quick start guide, which does not seem to explain how to raise sails, etc.
Is there another help guide or instructions within the program that I may have missed?
Thanks much in advance,

Hello Randy,

In the pre-release there is only a quick guide available. With the coming release planned end of this week there will a be a complete manual available.
So when the new version is being released, you can update it. You will have the manual then.

I am new to sailing by computer, but I am not new to sailing for real. I have knowledge of standing and running rigging i.e. Halyards,Downhauls, Sheets and Painters.
If I can be of any assistance then contact me.

its in the manual allright.

You klick on the sail, bottom-left of the screen.
The trim-buttons will pop up left to the center of the User Interface.
The trim-buttons are activated by klicking them, trimming(and hoisting, reefing) is done by keeping the mouse button pressed (trim-button stays activated)
and moving the mouse in the direction of the arrow shown in the trim-button.

Hi,

My 13-year-old son just bought and downloaded SS5 online. Is there somewhere we can download a manual?

Thanks,
Peter

The manual can be found when you start the game. Then click Help.
