Hi Willem
At present the simulators are limited in what can be done with them. No other boat traffic, no tides, only default boats move, etc.
I think many people that used to post no longer seem to, and with little feedback or discussion on anything, and that is why I have changed to just posting details on my web-site as have been a few years on this forum.
The exception of course is the few people that do post.
Also very few boats can be got to float, and collision spheres need a fix to get them to work in the sailsimulator although they now work OK in the motorboat simulator. Threads about it on forum.
I can no longer place collision spheres with the arrow keys on my computer using the Object Editor, and have to type in the details for each one.
I used to "fix" my content for collisions, but no longer bother as only using mb sim until sailsimulator 5 comes out.
I have considered the other simulator Virtual Sailor but I make content with Blender, and it is difficult to get the.X files to go into Virtual Sailor. Or at least I can get them in now but loose the textures.
I will probably keep addding to the Sceneries around the UK and Update the news on my site.
Thanks for posting.
Barry
P.S. I forgot to add if using the Scenery Designer to make sceneries, and using windows XP. you need to make it compatible to windows 95, or you probably won't be able to save a dem map. Even making compatible to windows 98, 2000,ME, may not work.
There are threads about it.
The Scenery Designer is I think 3 and half years old.
I think Stentec may be making an updated one to go with sailsimultor 5, which was mentioned to be due out end of November, although I don't know what the position is now regarding the New Scenery Designer which was mentioned many months ago?
Maybe they will read this and reply?
Barry
